What is Tapping? (TTT- Trauma Tapping Technique)
I practice Trauma Tapping Technique. Tapping uses light touch (tapping) from yourself or a practitioner on specific meridian points, on the body, to guide the nervous system from dis-regulation (sympathetic/fight or flight) back to a calm and centered state of being (parasympathetic/rest and digest).
When the body goes into a stress response, blood leaves the pre-fontal cortex (logical/creative decision making) and heads to the limbic brain (fear/survival).
During a tapping session, the techniques presented are used to calm the nervous system and activate the prefrontal cortex so that we can return to a calm, creative place and then act from there, with a fresh perspective.
I usually start my sound baths with “Havening or Tapping” (both taught in Trauma Tapping Technique) to bring the body and mind deeply and calmly into the present moment, so that those receiving the sound are open to the energetic shifts, that take place, with an open heart and clear mind.
